Angelo LASI Macaraeg is a Filipino-American music producer, label executive, mix engineer, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, and band leader from the Bay Area, CA.

Classically trained in piano since age 5, he expanded his musical horizons and eventually became self-taught in a number of western instruments and indigenous & traditional Filipino instruments (kulintang). His musical roots span from classical piano, punk rock, old R&B, soul, neo-soul, jazz, hiphop, OPM & most recently, Kpop.

While a student at UC Berkeley, LASI became the musical director of the university’s Pilipino Cultural Night live band and performed in multiple productions in Zellerbach Hall. He also began producing and engineering music by collaborating with a number of local artists. After graduation, he further studied jazz and bass guitar, and had the opportunity to study under Grammy award winning bassist, Victor Wooten.

In 2018, LASI joined The Balikbayans, a live band formed by pinay rapper Ruby Ibarra, and serves as a co-musical director, arranger and bassist. In collaboration with Ruby, LASI has performed for sold out shows in the Bay Area, in Los Angeles, and has toured internationally in the Philippines being featured on Wish107.5, Rappler, SaGuijo, and the Malasimbo Music Festival. When it comes to traditional Filipino music, LASI is also a musician and member of House of Gongs and LIKHA and has performed at international folk festivals in Belgium and Croatia. Also in 2018, he had the opportunity to conduct field research in Mindanao to study the music of various indigenous groups.

When he’s not performing live, LASI produces and engineers music out of his self-built music studio in the Bay Area. In 2019, LASI mixed Ian Santillano’s EP 1856, which has now garnered over a million streams on Spotify with tracks featured on official Spotify playlists.

In 2019, LASI produced and engineered Ruby Ibarra's single, "A Thousand Cuts," which became the title track for the PBS documentary of the same name, covering renowned journalist, Maria Ressa. The documentary premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival and earned a 2022 Peabody Award as well as a 2022 Emmy Award in the Outstanding Social Issue Documentary category. He also produced two tracks for Ruby Ibarra's Spotify LA sessions singles, sponsored by the premiere Asian American platform, Gold House. In September of the same year, LASI co-executive and music produced independent artist Ian Santillano's full-length album, Intropy, which has garnered over 250,000 plays on Spotify.

In the fall of 2023, LASI became the co-founder & President of Bolo Music Group. Bolo has signed 4 artists and has been featured on notable publications such as Billboard Philippines, KQED, the San Francisco Chronicle, among others.

In 2024, LASI’s music is currently being featured & is making an on-screen appearance on the 3rd season of the Fox Network's hit television show, The Cleaning Lady.

He is currently working as the co- executive and music producer for Ruby Ibarra's sophomore album set to release in the fall 2024.
